“There’s no need. I can drive myself,” Madelyn replied to Andrew.
Madelyn was an excellent driver, and having a driver might raise unnecessary questions among her colleagues. She preferred to avoid trouble and explanations whenever possible.
Andrew trusted her skills and nodded. Rowan drove him out while Madelyn drove herself to the hospital.
At the hospital, Serena was having breakfast. Melinda was surprised that Madelyn had taken the time to bring Serena some food.
Seeing Madelyn, Serena stretched out her slender arms.
“Mommy, hug me.”
She found Serena’s adorable expression heartwarming,
Madelyn handed the breakfast to Melinda, then scooped Serena up and asked lovingly, “Did you miss me?
“Yes, I missed you.”
Madelyn smiled, ruffled her hair, and glanced at the hospital breakfast Melinda had bought from downstairs. It was just plain toast and an egg. It looked appetizing, but the portion was too small.
Melinda opened the lavish breakfast Madelyn had brought..
“You’ve brought too much food. Serena won’t finish it all.”
“I brought some for you too. You both should eat together.” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“What about you?”
“I’ve already eaten.”
Madelyn sat while holding Serena.
Melinda served the chicken noodle soup. The enticing aroma made people drool.
Madelyn needed to go to work but couldn’t bring herself to leave when she saw Serena clinging to her. She squeezed Serena’s soft hand.
“I will feed you, okay?”
“Okay, Mommy.”
Serena nodded obediently.
Melinda asked worriedly, “Won’t you be late for work? I can feed her.”
She reached out to carry Serena.
“Don’t worry. I’ll stay with her for ten more minutes.”
“Alright then.”
Melinda placed a small bowl before Serena and handed Madelyn the spoon.
Serena could feed herself, but Melinda had pampered her when she had time since she was such a
sensible child
The chicken noodle soup was now warm after its journey from Madelyn’s home to the hospital. Madelyn
scooped a spoonful and held it to Serena’s mouth.
“Here. Open wide.”
Serena ate obediently, looking incredibly endearing. She seemed to know that Madelyn had to go to work, so she ate quickly.
“Slow down. There’s no need to rush.”
At the sight of Serena being so well–behaved, Madelyn’s voice grew even softer.
After about ten minutes, Madelyn reluctantly left Serena and hurried out of the hospital to head to the studio.
However, she ran into Easton in the lobby. Seeing him first thing in the morning was sickening, and she instinctively wanted to avoid him.
Easton also noticed her. He called out her name gently before approaching and trying to take her hand. Madelyn fumed. Her blood boiled instantly. She was so angry that even her breathing quickened.
She punched Easton right in the face.
She couldn’t understand how he could still act so intimate with her after being punched so many times before. Words were useless with someone as repulsive as him. A direct hit was the best approach. With his mouth bleeding, Easton looked at Madelyn in shock.
“You…”
His eyes were filled with disbelief. He never expected the once gentle Madelyn to hit him like a lunatic and with such force.
