Chapter 543: Life Is a Mess!
Chapter 543: Life Is a Mess!
Other reasons?
But she aborts the twins and tells him so, what can be other reasons?
As Leigh thinks this, he thinks about Chace's words and feels that Chace is right. If Jessie really
doesn't want children, she can have an abortion abroad.
Leigh calms down. He says, "I'll go back and ask her. I won't scold her."
"You shouldn't have scolded her," Chace says.
Chace remembers the last time he takes Jessie to the hospital and what the doctor says, he glances at
Leigh.
"Leigh, there's something I need to tell you."
"What?" Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Chace looks at him with a solemn expression, "She doesn't want an abortion, but she can't keep this
child."
Leigh doesn't reply.
"Do you remember the night when you were drunk, I took you to my place? The next morning, I called
Jessie and she didn't respond. Then I went to her room and found that she was covered in cold sweat.
I sent her to the hospital."
Chace sighs. "The doctor said that she was in poor health and advised her to have a child after she got
better. I don't know how bad a woman's health can be, but it seems that if it's serious, she won't be able
to give birth anymore."
Leigh does know that Jessie is in poor health. Previously, a doctor has told him. Hearing what Chace
says, he feels guilty. It is his fault.
He grabs his hair, feeling helpless and painful. "I didn't mean to hurt her, I just..."
Chace pats him on the shoulder and comforts him, "It's fine. Don't blame yourself."
"I told you this because I hope that if she has a miscarriage, don't blame her and be nice to her. Justin
knows a lot of doctors. Ask him for help. Maybe there will be a happy ending."
"Chace." Leigh moves his lips. After a while, he says, "Thank you very much."
If Jessie hasn't encountered Chace that day and is saved by him, something even more horrible may
happen to Jessie.
Chace is surprised, and then he grins, "We are friends! If you feel grateful, just notify me when you
have a good chance to earn money!"
Leigh punches him in the chest and smiles, "OK. I promise you."
"That's good!"
Not long after they chat, Chace answers a call and goes to the company to deal with things.
Before leaving, Chace turns to look at Leigh and says, "I know a bit about Angelina. I don't want to ask
about her relationship with Jessie. I just want to know, is the car accident of Mr. Clay and the others
related to you?"
"No." Leigh is indifferent and says coldly. "I'm not able to arrange that. God wants to punish them, and
no one can prevent the accident."
With just one sentence, Chace understands everything.
"You're right. They deserve it." Chace shrugs his shoulders and leaves.
When he takes the elevator downstairs, Chace is still thinking about what Leigh has says.
Chace doesn't know what kind of feelings Leigh has for Jessie, but Leigh takes a risk to punish those
people for her, he must care about her very much and put her in an important position.
Chace doesn't dare to do those things.
Chace sighs and says regretfully, "I really shouldn't have brought people with me!"
He doesn't expect that the woman he has saved on the way is actually his friend's wife.
Life is such a mess!
--
Leigh misses Jessie and drives back home early in the afternoon.
The servant opens the door and tells Leigh, "Ten minutes ago, a doctor came and he is upstairs
chatting with Mrs. Lewis."
"OK."
Leigh doesn't chat with the servant. After handing her the clothes, he goes upstairs.
When he goes upstairs to the bedroom, he walks lightly and hears a male voice. It seems that he is
asking questions. After a few seconds, he hears Jessie answer him.
The bedroom door is wide open. After entering, Leigh sees Jessie sitting by the bed. In front of her is a
man wearing medical gloves. Occasionally, he checks Jessie's eyes.
Leigh stands at the door and stares at them for a while before stepping in.
"How are her eyes?" Leigh walks to Jessie and asks the doctor, "Are they seriously wounded?"
The doctor takes off his gloves and answers Leigh. "Mrs. Lewis is pregnant, so I can't check her brain.
However, I asked her before. She woke up one day and found that she was blind. It's not serious. I'll
give her the medicine. If it doesn't work, we can only wait for her to give birth."
"OK. Thank you." No matter how worried Leigh is, he can only endure it.
The medicine is in a small glass bottle. It is a colorless liquid.
The doctor drops two drops of it into Jessie's eyes and then hands the bottle to Leigh. "Twice a day,
morning and night. If there's anything wrong with her eyes, call me."
"OK." Leigh exchanges phone numbers with the doctor. "Dinner is ready. Why don't you stay here for
dinner before leaving?"
The doctor is surprised.
Before he comes, he has heard Justin say that Leigh has a bad temper and is irritable. Why does he
speak so politely?
"There's no need to bother. I have something urgent to attend to."
Seeing the doctor say so, Leigh cannot force him to stay. He sees off the doctor and brings Jessie
downstairs to eat.
Jessie keeps silent all the way. After being brought downstairs, she sits at the dining table quietly.
After seeing the doctor off, Leigh pulls a chair and sits beside her. He glances at the food prepared by
the servant.
It is very plentiful, and most are foods for pregnant women.
Seeing Jessie sitting there like a baby, motionless, he frowns and asks warmly, "Little Fairy, do you
want to have asparagus?"
Jessie nods.
Leigh puts some asparagus in her bowl.
She gropes on the table and picks up the chopsticks carefully, and gropes for the bowl. Seeing that,
Leigh feels sorrow.
Being blind is worse than being amputated and lying in bed for the rest of one's life.
"Don't worry. I'll help you." Leigh picked up her bowl.
Jessie hesitates for a moment. She doesn't want to enrage him, so she lets go and opens her mouth.
All she has to do is sit there and let Leigh feed her.
When Leigh asks her if she wants to have something, she nods and clutches her clothes tightly like a
person who cannot take care of herself.
After a while, there isn't much rice left in the bowl.
Seeing that Jessie has a good appetite, he smiles.
However, his smile doesn't last long. Suddenly, Jessie covers her mouth and her face turns pale.
Leigh asks, "What's wrong? You want to vomit?"
Jessie nods.
Just as Leigh hands the trash can over, Jessie holds the trash can and vomited. She is very
uncomfortable.
Leigh keeps silent.
Leigh looks at her and is a little angry. He says, "If you don't want to eat, just tell me. Don't nod every
time I ask you if you want to eat. That will make you uncomfortable."
"I'm sorry." Perhaps it is because he sounds angry, Jessie keeps apologizing. "I was too uncomfortable
and didn't hold back ... I promise I won't vomit this time."
Seeing her being humble and cowardly, Leigh almost loses his temper.
