Greetings from different angles followed Shane as he stepped into his company with his guards behind him.

He smiled and waved at them in response giving his workers a big shock. He replied them?

He had never done that years of them working with him. He only walks past them without saying a thing. Today’s indeed a great day.

” Any meetings? ” He asked Claus as they got to his office and he walked over to his desk.

” You have a private meeting with Lancaster Enterprise and that’s all ” Claus replied after him.

Shane sat down on his seat and Claus dropped his tab in front of him. He showed him the theme of the meeting. Shane nodded after going through it.

” 12 pm right? ” He asked to be sure and Claus nodded.

” Alright then ” He replied and began accessing the files before him.

His eyes caught one of Claus’s reports and he stopped abruptly, picking up the certain file and going through it carefully.

He dropped it abruptly and raised his head up to Claus. ” Tina hasn’t been coming to work for the past three days? ” He asked and Claus let out a nod.

” And there was no excuse for that from her?, No report or anything? ” He asked again and Claus nodded again.

He sighed softly and leaned back on his seat. ” She’s ignoring her duties, seems she’s ready to leave her post as the secretary or leave this job as well… Inform me when she’s back and assign someone else to fill in her post till she’s back ” He said. Claus nodded with a bow and then excused himself.

Shane gave him the go ahead and with that, he walked out of the office. Shane tool a glace at the bracelet on his wrist and he touched it delicately. It might not be a fancy or expensive bracelet but he cherishes it so much, probably cause it’s from her.

His phone starts to ring and he grabbed it immediately, thinking it’s Layla. Instead, Alec’s name flashed on his phone. He hissed inwardly before tapping on the green button.

” What’s up dude? ” Alec’s loud voice came up. ” You’re around? ” Shane guessed.

” Of course I am, I’m standing right in front of your company ” He replied. ” So, you decided against coming in? ” Shane asked jokingly. ” Of course not, I just wanted to confirm if you’re around. Dude, it’s just a week after your wedding and you resumed work already. The hell! ” He joked and Shane let out a chuckle.

” Are you coming in or not? ” Alec let out a hiss. ” Of course I am ” He said and with that hanged up.

Shane returned his gaze back to his wrist, accessing the pretty bracelet on his wrist.

” Gosh, I’m tired ” Shane groaned as he landed on his seat. He took a glance at Alec whose gaze was focused on his phone.

” What’re you looking at? ” He asked. ” Nothing.. ” Alec replied, looking up from his phone.

” It’s just suprising no one’s asking where your newly wedded wife is… Not even the media,, I mean you two are supposed to be on your honeymoon right now but the case is different. The husband resumed work just a week after ” Alec stated. Shane let out a chuckle and sat up from his seat.

” Of course they are aware Brielle’s a workaholic… They probably guessed right that she’s also back to work. Or, we decided against going on honeymoon cause of our businesses ” Shane explained.

” So.. if truly she was here and she had opposed you two going on honeymoon. Would you accept? ” Alec asked and Shane nodded.

” Of course, it’s her choice and it’s not new to me that she cares about her company than US ” He responded, stressing the word * US *.

” You two relationship is saddening ” Alec joked and Shane laughed loudly.

” I know right? ”

” What’s with the suprise look on? ” Shane asked when he noticed Alec was giving him a weird look.

” Can’t believe you just laughed out loud,, I’ve never seen you do that eversince we grown up ” Alec said and Shane smiled. ” Isn’t it a good thing I’m changing now? ” Shane asked and Alec nodded. ” It is, but It’s suprising. I’m sure Brielle’s gon’ be more shocked when she finds out her husband has a changed personality now ” He added.

” Not like she’s gon’ care anyways ” Shane replied as he took one of the files in front of him.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

” I think that’s the problem. You two don’t seem to talk things out. You could had just told her about the fact that you think you two relationship isn’t really working out but you were blinded with love. You know too well she fancied her job more than you two but you never cared to talk it out with her cause you didn’t want to lose her like you lost the others and now it’s almost causing a wreck in your relationship with her… ”

” Imagine her leaving, not even caring about the fact that you two are supposed to be engaged. It means that she doesn’t really care and she’s sure you wouldn’t want the relationship to go to ruin and you would find a way to sort it out. And truthfully, you did. You made sure the wedding happened. You could have just cancelled the engagement and maybe she’s gon’ come to her senses that you hated what she did. But right now, I know she’s at calm that the wedding happened anyways and you found a way to sort it out even in her absence. It shows how much you’re willing not to let her go ” Alec said while Shane stared out of space as he said those words.

” You should snap out of the thoughts that you would do anything just so you wouldn’t lose her. She doesn’t deserve you, she doesn’t deserve all this sincerity you’re showing her. She’s taking you for granted. Make her know that, she could lose you cause of this silly mistake she had just made. Don’t try to hide the fact that you care a lot for Layla. Embrace the fact, it could work out between you two… ”

” Let Brielle be the one to come back for amends.. ” He paused to take a look at Shane’s expression. ” I’m sure once she sees you moved on without her, she would come running to you with silly excuses ” He added.

” What’d you think? ” He asked but Shane kept mute.

” Layla… you like her don’t you? ” He asked and this time he raised his head.

” You would find out yourself soon anyways but Brielle isn’t worth your love anymore. It doesn’t cost you a thing to cancel the contract ” Alex added.

Shane was about to say a thing when a knock came at the door.

” Come in ” Shane said to whoever was out there. The door slightly pushed open revealing Tina who had a scared and guilty look on.

Without moving any closer to them and standing by the door, she bowed her head a little. ” Sire… ” ” Where have you been? ” Shane asked in a rather soft voice but she was still scared.

” Sir.. I’m really sorry for leaving for days without saying a word.. I’m really sorry that. It’s really unlike of me, I just couldn’t help it. My mom was almost dying at the hospital, I had to rush over to my hometown just to take care of her. I’m really sorry sir. You can punish me but please don’t take my job away from me. Please.. ” She said in tears and Shane couldn’t help but pity her.

” How’s your mom fairing now? ” He asked instead, coming to Tina as a shock. ” Sire.. ” She called unbelievably. ” I mean.. ye… yes she’s getting better now. Thanks sir ” She stuttered and he nodded.

” You can leave ” He finally said. She looked up at him in shock. ” Leave.. sir.. I… my job.. ”

” You can go back to your post and don’t let this repeat itself. If you would be going on a break from work, you should always inform me. And if you think you still need some more days off to take care of your mom, you can take them and return back to work when she’s okay ” He stated.

” Um No sir. it’s fine, thanks sir ” She said and rushed out happily. She inhaled deeply as she walked out of the office, glad and suprised that he didn’t sack her.

Shane turned his head only to meet with Alec’s intense gaze on her.

” What? ” He asked, unsure of what the intense gaze was about. ” You’ve changed so much ” He muttered unbelievably.
