“So is he mad at you?” Lexi asked.
“No we’re good” I smiled, recalling last night’s memories as I made photocopies of some documents in the copier room.
“That fast? What did you do? Angry sex?”
I rolled my eyes. “I didn’t have sex with him”
“Then how?”
“That’s a top secret” I teased her.
Lexi scoffed. “Are you serious right now? Tell me” She narrowed her eyes. “you did have sex with him didn’t you?”
“If you don’t believe me, why would I even bother telling you?”
“Whatever” Lexi grumbled.
“So what’s gonna happen to Emma now?” Brian asked, leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest.
I sighed. “I don’t know”
“I think she’s a thief” He said. “Why else would she be in your room?” Lexi nodded in agreement.
I told my friends about what happened yesterday but not about the photo. It was Ian’s privacy and not mine to go around telling.
“I don’t know about that either”
“Did she come to work today?”
Reluctantly I nodded, averting my gaze.
Emma’s violent behaviour yesterday came flashing to my mind. And how she invaded his privacy, I didn’t like it at all. Since that incident only one thought circulated in my mind but I needed my friends counsel before taking any decision. I swallowed. “Should I just umm…should I just give her the money and fire her?”
“No” They both said simultaneously and I looked up at them. Brian heaved a sigh. “Don’t think about such ridiculous things Hailey. You need her. If you don’t make Mr. Kingston fall for her, you’d be stuck with him forever and none of us want you to be with a man you don’t like. I mean, if you like him we would support you but apparently you don’t” He gave a shrug.
I stayed silent to that and continued photocopying the documents.
“Guys, Ashley wants the documents soon” Lexi said reading a text message on her phone. “You done Hailey?”
“Yeah wait. I got one left” I photocopied the last of it and bind them all together. I gave the original files to Brian and took the photocopied bundle to my hand before leaving the room.
As we were walking, Brian ran into a girl and the files in his hands fell down, it’s contents falling in all directions.
“Oh shit I’m sorry” A girl in a red suit and raven black hair apologised.
“It’s alright” Brian glanced up and he sucked in his breath, his face reddening.
The girl stared at him for a long moment, blinking in shock and then a small devious smirk curled in her lips. “Oh it’s you. Mr. Big dick”
Lexi and I both exchanged puzzled glances. My gaze fell on her ID hanging around her neck and I saw that she was a reporter.
“You remember me?” The girl asked leaning towards him.
“Y-yes” Brian stammered, blushing furiously.
The girl grinned. “Good and I guess you have something to ask. Don’t be shy. I’ll be here all day”
Brian stared at her until his entire face was red as an apple.
“Go on”
Brian pouted, contemplating about it then took a deep breath, mustering up all the courage he had before blurting out. “Why didn’t you wait till I wake up?”
“Wait” Lexi’s eyes widened. “This is the red lips and rosy cheeks girl?”
Brian’s cheeks flushed in embarrassment and he quickly nudged Lexi’s arm. “Shut up” He hissed.
The girl chuckled. “That’s how he described me? Aww sweet! But I don’t have rosy cheeks. I just applied extra blusher that day. And anyways for your question-” The girl flipped her hair back. “Manwhores need to be taught a lesson”
“What?” Brian asked in utter shock.
The girl smirked and approached him, her hand reaching out, trailing a finger along his jawline. “You fucked my friend and left her to cry all day. And I got know that you did the same for several other women and me personally-” She fanned herself with her hand. “can’t stand such men. So I thought why not use the Uno reverse card?” She flashed him a smile and Brian stood, looking dumbstruck.
“But I won’t deny the fact that I enjoyed it Mr. Big dick” She patted his cheek. “Now stop blushing like a virgin. I have somewhere else to be” She winked and walked past us.
“If we meet again-” She called out. “I’ll give you my number” Then she spun around and blew Brian a flying kiss before walking away.
Brian stared after her until her figure disappeared and he released a long breath, placing a hand over his heart. “Guys, I think I’m in love”
I rolled my eyes and turned to Lexi. “Don’t you think she looks a bit familiar?”
“I was just about to say that” She frowned. “What’s her name Brian?”
Brian suddenly shrieked. “OH SHIT! I forgot to ask her name”
“You don’t know the name of the girl you fucked?”
“Do you think I remember every name?”
“Wow you really are a manwhore” Lexi smacked his forehead and Brian groaned in pain.
“Ouch, why are you so violent?” He grumbled, rubbing his forehead.
“Hailey, did take a look at her ID? Is she an employee of ours?”
“No” I shook my head. “She’s a reporter”
“A reporter?” Brian raised a confused brow. “What’s a reporter doing here? Is someone big coming today”
“No idea”
“Or she might be one of those paparazzi whose trying to find a fault in your engagement” Lexi said and then her eyes widened. “Oh my god! Do you think she bugged us? Brian check your clothes”
“Nah she’s not that type of person”
“Do you think you know her because you fucked her one time?”
“Yes of course”
Lexi snorted. “You’re too naive for a manwhore”
“That’s because I’m not a manwhore”
“Yes you are”
“No I’m not”
“Yes you-”
“Guys” I interrupted. “Let’s go before VP decides to murder us”
Brian and Lexi both shot each other murderous glares and picked up the fallen files before giving them Ashley.
We strode back to our tables and just as I was about to collapse to my seat, my phone rang. I took it out to check the caller ID and saw that it was a call from our company reception.
“Hello” I answered.
“Miss Evans. Someone wants to speak to you”

“Oh alright. I’ll umm come downstairs” I cut the call and frowned. Who is it?
I glanced at my friends. “I’m going to the lobby. Tell the VP I went to the bathroom”
“Okie dokie” Lexi waved a dismissive hands.
I took the elevator and reached the lobby but I didn’t see anyone looking for me. So I walked to the receptionist and leaned across the table. “Umm did the person who came looking for me leave?”
The receptionist glanced up at me and gave me an apologetic look. What’s going on?
Then suddenly someone harshly pulled on my hair and I yelped in pain. “You bitch, go to the reporters and tell the truth”
Groaning in pain I grasped the hands and yanked them away, spinning around to see who it was, then realised it was a red haired witch, Melissa.
She screamed and lunged at me but I pushed her away. “What the hell are you doing?”
“What the hell are you doing stealing my man?” She screamed and heads turned in our direction.
Shit! I cursed. If the reporters see this and get the wrong idea I won’t have a peaceful life ever again. It’d be more disastrous that it already is.
“I didn’t steal any man” I hissed, trying my best to keep my voice low. “And didn’t you get fired? How did you even pass the security?”
“I came with someone more powerful” She spat. “You won’t be his fiance for too long. Everything is over now. You’ll be named as a homewrecker in tomorrow’s newspaper”
“What homewrecker? Ian doesn’t even like you-” Before I could finish my sentence Melissa lunged at me again, trying to grab my hair but I dodged her and she went toppling to the floor.
“Are you a five year old?” I scolded her. “Why are you trying grab my hair-”
Suddenly shouts erupted in the lobby and everyone started running around, screaming orders at each other. The employees gathered to the balconies and the receptionist combed her hair before darting to the entrance of the company. Several men in suits gathered at the front, forming into two lines on either sides to welcome someone and I could see reporters running downstairs, holding their cameras and mics.
What the hell is happening?
Three black cars came into view at the entrance and a men in a suit opened the door to the middle one.
“You’re dead” Melissa chuckled.
I glanced at her, then back at the entrance and a loud gasp escaped my lips seeing the person coming out of the car.
It was the chairman.
