Luna of the Cursed Alpha King (Helga and Siegren)

Chapter 50

"WHAT'S WRONG?" Siegren inquired, noticing Helga's intense gaze as they sat together at a table, enjoying each other's company and pretending that they hadn't just caused a scene moments ago. Siegren then took a sip of wine before gently wiping away the smudged lipstick from her lips.

"I still can't believe that you removed your mask," she said because even after all this time, she was still shocked by it. She remembered that he was wearing it before they went their separate ways earlier, and after everything that happened to the Madden family, she couldn't help but focus on the fact that Siegren had finally revealed his face to the public. Now, everyone's eyes were fixed on him, completely mesmerized by his striking beauty. It was a complete turnaround from before when people would avoid him and show fear at the mere sight of his masked face. But now, they couldn't help but openly stare and admire his features as he interacted lovingly with his wife.

"Did you not like it?" Siegren chuckled, trying to lighten the uncomfortable situation as he was being stared at. He pushed aside the uncomfortable feeling and focused on fulfilling Helga's request to dispel the rumors about him. The previous night, while taking a walk for some fresh air, he had pondered over his queen's suggestions. He knew she had good intentions, but he may have overreacted initially. When he came back to apologize, she was already asleep, and he missed the opportunity this morning.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

As he fought the rogues, he had a sudden realization that he should start fulfilling Helga's desires. Not just because he felt guilty for being harsh, but also because he wanted her to not worry about the hurtful things people said and how they perceived him due to baseless rumors. After successfully getting rid of the rogues, he made the bold decision to leave his mask behind and confidently enter the banquet without hiding his face. It was an uncomfortable feeling at first, but seeing the change in everyone's attitude towards him gave him a newfound confidence.

"I do, I just didn't expect that you would do it since you clearly refused my suggestion last night,” Helga replied which made Siegren's finger twitch a little.

"Right, about that... I'm sorry, I think I overreacted..." he confessed, trying to find the correct words. "The thought of changing something I had become accustomed to didn't sit well with me, particularly given my circumstances. But after taking some time to calm down, I realized there was no harm in making a change. Plus, if the rumors about me persisted, it could also negatively impact your life because you're married to me."

He took his hand and squeezed it lightly, completely bubbling up in their own world despite the place and event they were currently in. Helga's heart fluttered as she melted under his touch, feeling completely at ease and protected in his presence. She couldn't care less that she was in the same banquet hall where her life had changed. The very same place where Ezra had once publicly called off their wedding and accused her of being fake no longer held any significance to her. All those painful memories just faded into the background as she focused solely on the feeling of Siegren's touch on her skin-nothing else mattered in that moment.

"Don't apologize. I understand why you reacted the way you did, but to be honest, it made me worried that my suggestion would set us back to where we started." Helga sighed a breath of relief knowing that their relationship wasn't completely on the verge of ruins, "Thank you for indulging me, but do you feel uncomfortable?"

"Well, being stared at openly isn't the easiest thing to handle but I can manage,” he reassured, causing Helga to glance around the room where she noticed Ezra looking at them from a distance as they received gifts from their guests. He quickly looked away when their eyes met, and Helga couldn't help but smirk. She knew exactly what he was thinking-he couldn't believe that her relationship with the Alpha King was not what he had assumed it would be.

The silent and unintentional way she was getting back at Ezra, showing him that she no longer had any feelings for him and was truly content with her new life and mate, felt strangely gratifying.

"Maybe we should leave this place now?" she suggested, returning her attention to Siegren, "I'm starting to feel suffocated here. Besides, you dealt with the rogues earlier, so you should take some rest."

"That's a good idea," He nodded in agreement, eager to leave the bustling banquet hall. After all, attending parties was never his cup of tea; it drained him more than being in a fierce battle. "Let's get out of here,"

Helga savored the lingering taste of her wine as she took her final sip before setting the glass down on the table. She stood up gracefully, smoothing out her dress and grabbing her purse before Siegren offered his arm to her, which she gladly took. She smiled at him as they made their way towards the newlyweds to offer their farewell in accordance with proper etiquette.

As they walked, all eyes were drawn to them, their regal appearance and confident strides commanding attention. It was impossible not to be captivated by their presence, especially since their physical appearances complemented each other perfectly, with Helga's unique and elegant grace balancing out Siegren's strong and commanding presence. Their confidence and chemistry together were impressive, leaving a lasting impression on those around them-they indeed looked like a power couple.

Miranda clenched her teeth in frustration. She and Ezra were supposed to be the main focus of this event, yet the guests seemed completely disinterested in them as if they were merely background characters. Even the Incarnadine pack members, known for their unwavering loyalty to their Alpha and Luna, were visibly awestruck by Helga's presence. It was clear that she possessed a powerful aura, one that matched the regal energy of the Alpha King. They knew there was something special about her despite being an orphan and seeing her standing next to Siegren only magnified it.

"Your Majesties," Ezra and Miranda stood up from their chairs, bowing to the Alpha King and Queen Luna as they greeted them politely, afraid to make another mistake that could potentially make them look like a failure. "Do you need anything?"

"We need to leave early and go back to the hotel," Siegren replied since they had already given their gifts earlier and there was no reason for them to stay any longer. Plus, he wanted to have some alone time with Helga and take advantage of being away in the palace by having a date, even if it was just for one day before returning to the capital tomorrow. "Congratulations on your marriage."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." the newlyweds said in unison, trying their best to appear respectful, though they were extremely excited to finally see them leave. However, none of the four of them could have predicted what was about to happen when suddenly, the previous Luna of Incarnadine, Viola Madden gracefully joined in on their conversation.

"Pardon me, Your Majesties, King and Queen," she spoke with a calm and collected voice, causing everyone to anticipate what she was about to say. Ezra and Miranda exchanged glances, somehow feeling uneasy. "In apology for the earlier incident and to show our gratitude for your presence at our pack's celebration... Would you consider spending the night at our pack house?"
